WELCOME TO OUR PRACTICE.
Thank you for choosing us as your primary care physicians. Please take a few moments to acquaint yourself with some important information.
WHAT IS AN INTERNIST? WHAT IS INTERNAL MEDICINE?
An Internist is a physician who has completed at least three years of advanced training beyond medical school. Internal Medicine encompasses most non-surgical medical problems, including lung, heart, gastrointestinal, kidney, and infectious disease. In general, this specialty is restricted to “adults,” 16 years or older. As internists, we view ourselves as the personal physician of our individual patients.
WHAT ARE NURSE PRACTITIONERS/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS?
Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants have completed advanced training in physical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. They are licensed to treat patients for injury or illness, perform minor surgical procedures, and prescribe medication. The NP’s/PA’s in this office maintain close contact with the physicians to provide both consistency and continuity of care for each patient.
A specific amount of time is set aside for each patient who has an appointment. In order to be considerate of other patients who would like to be seen sooner, we request that you please notify us 24 hours in advance if you must cancel an appointment. If we are not notified 24 hours in advance, you may be charged a $40 no-show fee. There may also be an additional charge for the completion of forms.
